Programs

DACOR Members and Guests

DACOR hosts numerous programs each month.  Below, please find the descriptions of these programs.

DACOR Development Dialogue

DACOR Development Dialogue luncheon speaker series focuses on under-examined domains of interest to many DACOR members: what are senior analysts and commentators advocating as public policy for U.S. overseas development assistance? What is going on in official and non-governmental development policy and programming intended to promote sustained global economic growth and improved human welfare?

DACOR Forums

The Program Committee, chaired by W. Robert Warne, organizes foreign policy-oriented Forums from September through June, usually on the second Friday and fourth Tuesday of the month (save in November and December).

Cloyce K. Huston Musicales

Guided by Music Committee Chair Marilyn Wong Gleysteeen, Ph. D., the Music Committee presents four to eight recitals each year in the spring and fall months. Announced first in the Bulletin, the musicales at 3:00 pm on Sundays offer performances by rising and seasoned vocalists and instrumentalists, singly and in ensembles, in an intimate atmosphere. The Steinway grand piano was selected and played by Artur Rubinstein.

DACOR Newberry Cultural Series

The Newberry Committee, chaired by Susanne Newberry, hosts cultural speakers from September through June, on the third Wednesday of the month.

DACOR President’s Round Table

The President’s Round Table is designed to host speakers who provide stimulating insights and spark discussion on topics of deep interest to a limited number of DACOR members and their guests. Members will be able to engage closely with these speakers in the more intimate setting, allowing attendees to gain from the authoritative perspective of these erudite speakers.

ADST-DACOR Diplomats and Diplomacy Series

DACOR and the Association for Diplomatic Studies and Training have hosted the Diplomats and Diplomacy Series since 1996. These evening receptions feature authors of books related to the conduct of foreign relations, with the goal of increasing public knowledge and appreciation of American diplomats throughout history. Copies of the featured book are available at the event.
